Such a highlight this weekend to get to spend some time with one of my favorite people, my Grandma Charlotte Burgoyne and my Aunt Margaret. Loved watching Loren and Aunt Margaret play and talk theory of music and guitar. I especially enjoyed looking through my grandma’s portfolios and looking at her art over 90 years of paintings. We know we celebrate and decorate for America from Memorial day through the summer with Fourth of July and Labor Day weekend, 
and then it turns to fall! My kids were asking me, besides camping 
What is the meaning of Labor Day? Labor Day celebrates the United States work force. We love history, Kalicia said dad teaches about this at school, way back in the late 1800’s, just after all the changes brought about by the Industrial Revolution, we were looking at a different culture. Americans have always been work-oriented, but at this point, our work had moved from laboring in farm fields to laboring in downtown factories. We rejoice in the fact that we are a country of workers, still building up America, with the culture of work continually changing –and that’s the true meaning of Labor Day. The kids say it’s a weekend to have fun and take a break from work

) Caroline got to go off with grandparents and cousins, on her own camping trip without our family for the very first time. And Harrison went on his first young men’s camping trip. I love watching these sweet friends loving and lifting each other up through hard times. 
“I can only imagine, what it would be like when I walk by your side… when your face is before me… surrounded by your glory, what will my heart feel? …will I stand in your presence or to my knees, will I fall? Will I sing hallelujah? Will I be able to speak at all?” It’s hard to understand why these young ones have to return home so early

Update on Dr. Dollar, first time we got riders on him since the accident in July. 
lots of movement and therapies, moving him back into being ridden again. Hopefully we can start trail riding again soon and put bigger riders on him. He’s still weak making turns and criss crossing his back legs when he walks

…I spent the day meditating with some wonderful ladies, and went on a little hike at the end, came across an uplifting path. I love the time we spent outdoors, grounding, yoga facing the sun, leaving the shadows behind. Harrison said we finished the Black River in our artist garden! Now we get to celebrate it with a Sunday picnic. I love seeing how my kids adjust and figure out how to carry a bucket with a crutch. Started out with three rocks in the bucket, went to five and by the end she was able to carry seven big rocks in a bucket. Forward is forward no matter the pace. It took days, weeks and months to move rocks, but it’s done. Time to take a break and come back in spring and plant flowers

Can’t believe my little man, Harrison, is turning 12 in a week, but we will be out of town next weekend, so we celebrated him this weekend
