Moving to Germany for the summer...

It’s been a beautiful few days, with lots of walking and riding bikes among the city streets of Germany. It was a beautiful Sunday walk to church along the banks of the Mein River. The kids have done well making friends with other “kinder” at the park. Our first night was interesting when a bat 🦇 flew in the window. That was a fun surprise! Dad to the rescue! Dachau, Germany 🇩🇪 We saw examples of men, who stood up for their beliefs and even gave up their lives for it. “Never compromise your morals.”

It was quite a beautiful rainy day in the Alps! 🌧Hiked among castles and Caroline wanted to dance in her “Do re mi” hills. If it wasn’t raining we would have let her. They sang “Sound of Music” songs as we drove everywhere 🎶 pretty magical... and then what a sombering experience, spending time in history. It was tough knowing how to feel. Love and respect for those who suffered and stood up for their beliefs and morals. Prayers for the families who still struggle. It’s a topic that is tough, especially here. We found this beautiful little town, hidden gem 💎, today with this awesome family!! Love the Nau family!! 🤗Some of these homes and castles, along with the well and large city wall were built in the 1300 and 1400’s! I loved that my girls shouted out with excitement, “I bet Van Gogh or Leonardo Da Vinci walked down streets like this!” 🎨 🖌 It was fun to see their imagination whirl and connect with the beauty of history. This beautiful little city was untouched during the wars and still embraces its’ history. This is our last weekend in Frankfurt, lots of fun goodbyes!! 🤗 Some German friends of ours opened up an American Store in the Skyline Plaza! It was such a big deal! Country band 🎸 and singing Star Spangled Banner⭐️💥 🇺🇸 right in the middle of this big mall. It was a beautiful comforting site. I love all the friends we have made here. And Lucky Charms and Root Beer!! What??? Very wanted items here that you cannot get!!! 🙌🏻 🍀 🍺 loved😍our 🇬🇭 Ghana, African meal with this incredible couple!! It’s “Wunderbar “ how you can have life long friendships across the world 🌎 for over 20 years. Thank you for a memorable evening!!! Fun times with cousins! Spent our last day in oldest amusement park in the world, over 200 years old along with Tivoli. Bakken, known as the Hill in Danish. The towns people would go to the hill to play! Got to see the Queens Palace and the kids got a kick out of the guards 🙂 👑 it was super hard to say our goodbyes!

Spending the week with our cousins in Copenhagen!!! Had a wonderful time exploring Castles and Churches ⛪ in the Fredericksborg Castle, we got to see paintings from 1865 to 1879, Carl Heinrich Bloch made 23 oil on copper paintings for the King's Oratory. The kids were excited when they recognized some of the paintings from their Sunday school lessons. Kronborg Castle was incredible too, getting to stand and overlook the seas, where Vikings fought for castles and land! And the kids had a memorable experience where they got to see the original Christus; marble statue of the resurrected Jesus by one of my favorite sculptors, Bertel Thorvaldsen. Made in 1838, the statue has been in the Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen, Denmark. 🙏🏻And a favorite part of our day was falling together in the water, trying to get to the famous, Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid! 🧜‍♀️
